To learn more about California's budget-making process try the California Budget Challenge. The Challenge allows you to create your own version of the state budget-deciding what to spend and what to tax. You can then alert your legislators and the governor of the policy choices you made. It's a great way to learn about the trade-offs involved. Try it! www.next10.org/challenge

Feesch.. thanks for your comment. Indeed RFID leaves our privacy uncovered for everyone with a reader to read. It is true that they are mainly tracking devices, but what matters is what information they contain. What are we tracking? what is possible? in fact with RFID one can load any information in those tiny chips. Like your blog says, I can see how they are used in the consumer market.

Hi! A fellow blogger who also sees the potential with this kind of tracking. Wonder if you have seen where this is going though? You may be interested in my blog, look at RFID categories.

Here's a couple of artcles:

There are actually many RFID systems implemented across the world already. But because of the nature of the RFID technology - being able to wirelessly read data from a close proximity - it's natural to be suspicious of it and look at the extremes.

RFID is being used in warehouses and libraries everywhere. And yes, sometimes times the RFID chips are being embedded under the skin, of pets, to help track our furry friends. And that's what RFID is best at, just tracking stuff.
